The Tree Musketeers
Yesterday’s task of a Re-Pollard to one of our client's prized Sycamore tree's was completed by our apprentice @mattrkirby. For anyone unfamiliar with re-pollarding, this entails removing all of the canopy growth back to it's previous pollard points to gain a smaller canopy and to allow's the crown to regenerate from scratch again. This is a very effective method for multiple requirements such as tree size containment or even to aid and promote new healthier growth if the canopy is suffering from large amounts of die-back or disease.. This was in-fact Matt's first re-pollard and also his first ever completion climb since gaining his final Aerial tree climbing qualifications only last week. Matt has spent the past year on the ground and has benefited from being trained everyday by our best climbers, which has really given him the confidence and know-how to undertake a large majority of aerial works before even putting on a harness. Our client and all of the team were equally as pleased with the end result and I think we can safely say that although this was Matt’s first, it certainly won’t be his last. Fantastic stuff @mattrkirby ☺️The Tree Musketeers Dorset Ltd 01202 38 39 40 01425 530 530 www.TheTreeMusketeers.com#TreeSurgery #Dorset #TarrantHinton #ApprenticeToArborist ... See MoreSee Less

Tree Felling/Dismantling is the most common form of tree surgery and is a particular service we specialise in. This can be a very dangerous task, if attempted without the correct knowledge, skill and or equipment. Whether it’s a large tree in a small working area or a tree that is in close proximity to Buildings, Road’s or Electricity Cables, the highly experienced and qualified team of Climbers at The Tree Musketeers, will be able to safely undertake and complete the required works.

Crown reducing is the selective removal of branches and stems to reduce the height and/or spread of the crown of a tree. This type of pruning should be carried out when there is a need to minimize the risk of failure of a tree or to reduce interference to nearby buildings or other structures. Crown Reducing is also a preferred alternative to Removal or Felling to increase Sun-light and to open scenery views.

Tree Pruning effectively helps to maintain the crown’s shape and appearance. It is sometimes possible to save an infected tree by strategically pruning away affected branches and limbs. Thinning the crown of a tree improves airflow, which can be very beneficial and proves to help with generating new growth, fruit & flowers.

Pollarding is a method of pruning that keeps trees and shrubs smaller than they would naturally grow. It is normally started once a tree or shrub reaches a certain height, and annual Pollarding will restrict the tree to that height.

Deadwooding is mainly used for safety and for the continued health of a tree. A high amount of deadwood reduces the tree’s aesthetic appearance and if left unattended, it attracts pests and diseases.

Stump Grinding is a specialist service that we provide to remove any old or un-wanted stumps. This process is completed by our stump grinding machines that vary in size, from being capable of removing the very biggest of stumps on commercial projects to narrow garden gate access for small stumps typically found in your garden. The unwanted stumps are ground out and the mulch/chipping's that are generated is typically backfilled to fill the hole of where the stump was previously, leaving a perfect replanting area for a new tree or flat base for new grass.
